Acalypha hispida belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae, it is a tropical shrub and an annual plant commonly known as ‘chenille plant’, ‘Red hot cat tail. It native south pacific, new guinea, malay archipelago other islands in east indies. used ornamental garden house. Traditionally leaves are laxative, diuretic treatment of leprosy gonorrhea. Different part also infectious diarrhoea, pulmonary problems expectorant asthma. Phytochemical studies revealed presence many compounds like alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, glycosides, phenols, steroids, hydroxyanthraquinones etc. have been reported various pharmacological activities such anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, hypoglycemic, anti-microbial, anti-fungal activity, trypanocidal effect, cytotoxic The current reviews summarizes information about pharmacology, chemical constituents, biological toxicological study. This review research work carried out on this provide updated for future work.
